Chisto cycling tour in Scandinavia & Baltic: Germany, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland - 3 months, 7000km

The Greek government is making war against migrants while Europe remains silent.

We daily witness violent pushbacks, police brutality, authorities destroying their papers and personal belongings, and many long-term arrests and detentions in incarceration camps. We witness organisations evicting immigrant families from their apartments following the government's orders. We witness violent pushbacks and abandoned babies in the sea by Frontex in collaboration with the Greek navy. We witness human rights violations at international borders. We witness the Greek state discriminating between refugees welcoming Ukrainian refugees but not others when ALL refugees should be welcomed and every person in need of a safe asylum should be provided one without discrimination. 

Spread the message of “no borders” and immigrants’ free movement regardless of where they come from. Recognize the human’s need to seek a better fortune in the north, driven by policies that are emerging in Europe’s imperialism. Amid the pandemic and a politically shaped anti-immigration treaty based on the interests of the powerful and the restriction of the weaker, immigrants are even more exposed and defenseless in Europe.

Die griechische Regierung führt einen Krieg gegen Migrant*innen, und Europa schweigt. Täglich sehen wir brutale Pushbacks, Polizeigewalt, die Zerstörung von persönlichen Dokumente und Besitztümer durch Behörden, und viele langfristige Verhaftungen und Inhaftierungen in Gefangenenlagern. Wir sehen, wie Organisationen Wohnungen von Familien im Auftrag der Regierung zwangsräumen lassen. Wir sehen brutale Pushbacks und zurückgelassene Babys im Meer durch Frontex in Kollaboration mit der griechischen Marine.

Wir sehen Menschenrechtsverletzungen an internationalen Grenzen. Wir sehen die Diskriminierung, wenn der griechische Staat ukrainische Geflüchtete willkommen heißt und andere nicht, wo doch alle Geflüchteten willkommen geheißen werden müssen, und jede Person in Not sicheres Asyl bekommen sollte. Verbreitet die Nachricht "keine Grenzen" und Zugfreiheit für Migrant*innen, egal von wo sie kommen. Erkennt an, dass die Menschen ein besseres Schicksal im Norden finden müssen, die vor Verhältnissen fliehen, die ihren Ursprung im europäischen Imperialismus haben. Inmitten der Pandemie und einem Anti-Migrations-Abkommen, das auf dem Schutz der Interessen der Mächtigen und der Unterdrückung der Schwächeren fußt, sind Immigrant*innen in Europa noch stärker ausgeliefert und schutzlos als ohnehin.
